Meet Michelle

Simply Beauty & little beauty bar operations Manager

Career so far: I’ve been at Simply Beauty for over 10 years now and still love it. I started as a apprentice in Europe over 20 years ago and worked my way up. I’m still learning every day, teaching the next generation of apprentices brings it full circle. Starting the apprentice program and getting our apprentices nominated 2 years in a row out, of all the hairdressers and beauty therapists in New Zealand, was such a thrill.

Favourite treatment: My favourite treatment is Dermapen, planning everything with the client and then seeing the actual results is so rewarding.

Outside the salon: I have a lovely little Frenchie. I love horses and being involved in the harness racing industry, which offers me such a contrast to the beauty industry.

Meet Jade

Salon Manager

The Palms

Career so far: I moved up to Christchurch from Dunedin in October 2020 when Simply Beauty had an apprentice opening. I have now been here for three and a half years, completing my apprenticeship and moving into a management position for The Palms.

Favourite treatments: Dermaplaning is definitely one of my favourite treatments and being able to see the instant results and the before and after is very satisfying.

Dermapen was a lot of fun to learn, with the science behind it fascinating. I also love doing facials, it’s very relaxing for the client and myself too. There is so much variation between each facial in terms of the clients skin type and outcome of the treatment, which keeps it different each time and always super fun!

Outside the salon: I love to read and to go out for walks when the weather is nice. Hanging out with my friends too. There’s always something social going on each weekend; coffee, dinner or some drinks and a boogie! My family is down in Dunedin, so I try to get down to see them as much as I can.

Meet Rosabel

Salon manager

BarRington

Career so far: I studied in Fiji originally beginning my Beauty Therapist career over 15 years ago. I have been living in Christchurch for 13 years starting as a therapist for Simply Beauty. I worked my way to manager of The Palms salon and now love managing the team at the Barrington salon.

Favourite treatments: My favourite treatments are lash Lift - I love seeing the instant before and after results.  I also love Dermapen and the smile on a client’s face when they see the results for themselves. I was recently given the a High Performance Dermapen Practitioner Award ’24.

Outside the salon: I have one daughter Aisha, I love singing and am a member of a local music group. I also host parties and events in our community.

Meet Kirsten

Salon Manager

Little beauty Bar

Career so far: I trained at Aoraki Polytech and have been a beauty therapist for 10+ years. Having worked at Simply Beauty for a number of years, I took on the new challenge of Salon Manager, at their sister salon, Little Beauty Bar, when it opened in The Hub in March 2022.

Favourite treatments: I love doing Dermaplaning, as it gives nice smooth glowing results straight away. It is a relaxing treatment for clients as well. They always love having it done and the immediate results.

I also love applying make-up. Whether it’s an informal day look or full night glamour finish, I love helping women master new techniques and styles.

Outside the salon: I have three children, Kahn almost 7, Mason 8.5yrs and Avia 15yrs, which keeps me busy.

I love spending quality time with my family and friends.

Meet Jazmin

Salon manager

The Hub

Career so far: I originally started as a nail and lash technician during the first lock down. I made the decision to train fully as a beauty therapist. I started in October 2020 working as an apprentice, qualifying and now salon manager!

Favourite treatment: I love doing dermaplaning as a treatment. It feels amazing for the client who enjoys fresh, glowing skin. For me this is a really satisfying treatment removing all the dead skin and peach fuzz off the clients face.

I also really love doing lash extensions, being able to completely transform someone’s look and give them so much confidence with lashes.

Outside the salon: enjoy spending time with my family having our weekly family dinner as well as relaxing and enjoying a wine or two with friends!

Meet Mel

Senior Therapist

The Hub

Career so far: I trained at ARA for 2 years, achieving my Certificate in Beauty Therapy and Diploma in Beauty Therapy over two years. I finished studying in 2018, graduating in March 2019. I started working for Simply Beauty in February 2019, so this year is my 5th year of being a beauty therapist.

Favourite treatment: I loooove doing facials and pampering clients, especially when they start snoring because I know I’ve done my job right! I love seeing clients enjoy how their skin feels afterwards.

Outside the salon: I like to go for walks with friends and catch up with overseas family on group calls. We play Switch together online, which is a fun way to hang out and bond, when not everyone lives in the same country.
